Cookie & Storage Policy

BrickBuddy doesn’t use traditional advertising or tracking cookies. Instead it stores a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage. Here’s exactly what, and why.

What we store

• bb_consent — remembers your choice on this banner. Strictly necessary.
• bb_uid — a random anonymous ID (no personal info) used to group analytics events. Analytics — only after you accept.
• bb_events — a local log of anonymous usage events (searches, merchant clicks). Analytics — only after you accept.
• bb_basket — the materials basket you build on the whole-basket comparison page. Functional — set only when you use the basket.
• bb_apk_waitlist — your email address, only if you submit it to the Android app waitlist. Functional — set only when you join the waitlist.
• atlas_attribution — if you arrive via a link from one of our sister sites (the Atlas network), a note of which site or campaign referred you. No personal information. Functional.

Your control

Analytics storage stays off until you click Accept on the banner. If you click Reject, no analytics ID or events are stored. You can change your mind or wipe everything at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Third parties

We don’t load third-party tracking scripts, and BrickBuddy itself sets no third-party cookies. Your search location is sent live to OpenStreetMap services to find merchants (see the Privacy Policy).

Affiliate cookies (when our partnerships go live)

Our affiliate partnerships — with networks including Awin — are currently being set up. Once a merchant’s programme is live, clicking that merchant’s link takes you there via the network (for Awin, a brief redirect through awin1.com) with an anonymous click reference attached. The network and the merchant may then set cookies on their own domains so that a purchase can be attributed to BrickBuddy. These cookies are set by those third-party sites, not by BrickBuddy, and are governed by their own cookie policies; the exact cookie lifetime (“cookie window”) varies per merchant. Until a programme is live, merchant links are ordinary links and none of this applies. More in our Affiliate Disclosure.
