Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data BrickBuddy collects, why, and your rights over it. BrickBuddy is a free tool that helps you find and compare building-materials suppliers near you.
1. Who we are
BrickBuddy is operated by ZeroPoint Marketing Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller, of 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF (company no. 17057565, registered in England & Wales), United Kingdom. Registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact winfluencecopywriting@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
Automatically, if you accept analytics:
- Anonymous usage events — that a search happened, the material term and search radius, and which merchant links you tap. This is how we measure demand and which merchants get click-throughs.
- An anonymous device ID — a random identifier stored in your browser (not linked to your name) so repeat events can be grouped.
- Technical data — your IP address and browser user-agent, used briefly for security and rate-limiting.
Only if you provide it:
- Email address — if you join the Android app waitlist, so we can tell you when it launches.
We do not collect your name, create accounts, take payments, or sell your data. We do not store your postcode or GPS location (see below).
3. Your location
When you search, your postcode or GPS coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim and Overpass services to find merchants near you. This happens live, in your browser, to fulfil your search. We do not store your location on our servers.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Consent — for usage analytics and for emailing you the app link. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — brief use of IP/user-agent to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
5. Cookies & local storage
We do not use tracking cookies. We use your browser’s local storage — see our Cookie Policy. Analytics stays off until you accept via the banner.
6. Who we share data with
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim/Overpass) — receives your search location to return nearby merchants.
- Affiliate networks (e.g. Awin) and merchants — when you click a merchant link, an anonymous click reference may be passed so any resulting purchase can be attributed to us for commission.
- Hosting (Fly.io) — our servers, located in the UK/EU region.
We never sell your personal data.
7. Affiliate disclosure
Some merchant links are affiliate links — we may earn a commission if you buy after clicking, at no extra cost to you. This never affects how results are ranked (we rank by price and distance). Our affiliate partners include networks such as Awin; partnerships are being set up and links only carry affiliate tracking once a merchant’s programme is live. Full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
8. How long we keep it
- Anonymous usage events: up to [12] months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Waitlist email: until the app launches or you ask us to remove it.
- IP/technical data: short-term, for security only.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email winfluencecopywriting@gmail.com. You can also clear all locally-stored data by clearing your browser storage for this site.
10. Children
BrickBuddy is a tool for tradespeople and the general public and is not directed at children under 16.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date shows when. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
12. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
